Organisation at MAASTRO clinic

Organisation at MAASTRO clinic

In 2004 the position of patient safety manager was introduced at MAASTRO clinic. In 2007 there was an organisational extension with a patient safety officer and a patient safety team. Together, these members of staff are responsible for the further development of the risk and safety policy at MAASTRO clinic and the implementation of instruments used to improve patient safety. All disciplines that are involved in the patient process (radiotherapist-oncologist, clinical physician, radiotherapy lab technician and administrative staff) are represented in the patient safety team.

Reporting Committee

The Reporting Committee consists of representatives of all disciplines involved in the patient process. The aim of the committee is to support and develop quality policies using the PRISMA risk management system, among other things. The committee analyses incoming messages, classifies the main causes and adds them to a database. Regular analyses are performed on this data, which are fed back to the organisation, the management and/or the employees.

Risk & Safety focus area holders

MAASTRO clinic works with organisational work units. Each work unit includes a radiotherapy lab technician and a doctor's assistant as the focus area holder of Risk & Safety. The focus area holder is responsible for the feedback of patient safety-related initiatives and for creating awareness within their own work unit and/or discipline.
